J.A. Laporte Flowers & Nursery, like all companies, is concerned with the unprecedented global pandemic that we are facing due to COVID-19. As the situation with coronavirus continues to evolve day-to-day, our top priority during these challenging times continues to be health and safety.

In addition to monitoring guidance from local, national and global health organizations, we are taking precautionary measures to ensure that our store and greenhouses minimize risks.

We contacted Ontario's 'Stop the spread' Business Information Line and as a garden centre and nursery, we are considered producers which falls under the current list of essential businesses produced by The Government of Ontario.

Store Facility & Greenhouses:

As a nursery, we have thousands of our plants growing onsite in one of our 17 greenhouses. These plants need daily watering and monitoring.

We are trying to keep opportunities for exposure to the virus to a minimum. We constantly and regularly disinfect surfaces, including doorknobs, tables, desks and other high-traffic and high-touch areas.

Online Purchases:

To support social distancing efforts and based on recommendations from local health authorities, we are limiting sales to over-the-phone and online until further notice. For your convenience, we have expanded our online store, offering Curbside Pickup Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Note that e-commerce is completely new to us. We are hard at work adding new products to our website on a daily basis. If you are seeking a product that is not listed, we encourage you to call us at (613) 833-2316 or write us.

In-Store Purchases:

Our communities are working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to support these efforts, our store will remain closed. We will open our doors to the public as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we have added articles to our Blog Page and will share fun videos and photos on social media. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

Our Employees:

The J.A. Laporte leadership team will continue to monitor guidance from federal and provincial governments and we will update our business practices and policies accordingly. As a small mom-and-pop operation, our employees are considered family, as such their health and safety is our highest priority.

Thank you for being a J.A. Laporte customer. We look forward to welcoming customers back to our nursery soon and we thank you for your understanding during these extraordinary circumstances. We wish you and your loved ones good health.
